Benalla P–12 College STEAM Centre and Library

Revitalising Benalla P-12 College in a new era of STEAM Education. Benalla P-12 College STEAM Centre and Library are envisioned as a resetting of the life of this school of over 620 students, revitalising the campus and introducing STEAM-based education to year 6-12 students.

The building engages the community with architecture that showcases and excites learner’s curiosity. It reinforces the role of the central plaza as the heart of the school and maximises the potential of outdoor space for learning.

Plentiful daylight, good air quality and a natural material palette are healthy cornerstones of this high-quality, contemporary learning environment. The planning enables equitable access to resources for students of diverse abilities and fosters academic engagement, holistic individual development and students’ life skills.

The building supports engaged learning in STEAM-based settings with learning and teaching areas for Sciences, Technologies, Textiles, Arts and Media. Maker spaces and an integrated Library, together with outdoor learning areas, complete the suite of learning zones.
