Cardinia Civic Centre

In addition to its main function as home to the Shire of Cardinia Council in Melbourne’s outer south-east, Cardinia Civic Centre is also designed as an anchor destination within the broader urban context of nearby Officer – a sustainable precinct to the west designated for significant residential growth.

Designed within a master plan for the new Officer town centre, the building design aligns with the precinct’s sustainable ambitions, engineered for a 5 Star Green Star Design and As-Built ratings, and a 4.5 Star NABERS rating. Natural, sustainable and durable materials are balanced with appropriate levels of glass and transparency, so the building integrates with its proposed urban context while offering a welcoming face to the community.

Below three levels of office space, the multi-purpose Council facilities on the ground floor include: meeting and consultation rooms, reception, customer service areas and retail tenancy. A four-level atrium divides the upper office floors into two distinct zones, linked by a series of multiple ‘bridges’.
