Sydney Airport T2, Food Court and Gate 35 Retail Refurbishment

Sydney Airport T2, Food Court and Gate 35 Retail Refurbishment

The Terminal 2 food court and Gate 35 retail precinct at Sydney Airport are a key facilities for visitors. Creating a dynamic environment that balances egress, efficiency and comfort was a key driver.

This modern food and beverage precinct—based on a Landini and Associates concept—uses a sophisticated minimal material palette with each material defining a specific purpose. The result is a cohesive backdrop where each kiosk has an identifiable unique presence, setting the benchmark for kiosk-format retailing within the terminal. Custom designed banquettes, seating and tables with charging points offer relaxation zones, group zones, individual transit and work zones to accommodate a variety of customer profiles comfortably.

Conceived as ‘food theatre’, central skylights flood the space with natural light creating openness and easing the intense nature of an airport into an enticing public forum.
