BAE Systems JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) Large Titanium Machining Facility

BAE Systems JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) Large Titanium Machining Facility is a government-funded facility that machines titanium aircraft components. It features heavy industrial construction and advanced manufacturing infrastructure. DesignInc was the lead consultant engaged by BAE Systems to provide a feasibility study, detailed design, documentation and superintendent services to produce a manufacturing hall suitable for machining the precision components.

Situated adjacent to BAE Systems’ existing machining facilities on a brownfield site, the new JSF machine hall provides BAE Systems with a world-class advanced manufacturing facility. The state-of-the-art building features mechanical systems similar to those within a clean facility, fire suppression capabilities, ITAR level Defence security, intensive electrical infrastructure and a lightning protection system.  The coordination of a broad range of specialist consultants and construction input delivered the project on time and within budget to become a showcase for the Australian Federal Government’s defence manufacturing program and BAE Systems Australia.
