DesignInc Sydney Head of People and Culture, Tara Keast, said:
‘It is my responsibility to lead DesignInc Sydney’s evolution into a future-thinking workplace, one of compassion and inclusivity.
‘A core objective of DesignInc Sydney is to progress gender equality within the organisation, and I’m proud to say we’ve achieved a 50/50 gender split, including at Director level. Our shift in recruitment policy is based around a culture of diversity. This means we actively recruit women and people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
‘Respect and Equality Workshops, Cultural Events, Health and Wellbeing events, Mental Health Days, Employee Assistance Program, Flexible Working Policies, Be At Your Best Days, Parental Leave Policies and Domestic and Family Violence Support are but a few of our initiatives driving this change.’
DesignInc prides itself on its gender split in what is predominately a male-based industry.
DesignInc Sydney has a 50/50 split of male and female at the Board of Directors level and overall the staff ratio is 58% female and 42% male.
‘63% of new joiners to the business during the reporting period (2023-2024) were women” said Keast. “Our aim is to attract and retain women in the architecture industry.’
