Aspect Treetop School Administration + GLA
Design principles based on the Autism ASPECTSS™ Design Index inform the design of the new GLA and Administration Building for Aspect Treetop School. The school's autism-specific focus caters to students ranging from 5 to 17 years of age. This carefully considered learning environment employs simple curves, muted colours and natural materials. Spacial sequencing and sensory zoning facilitate the transition between high-stimulus and low-stimulus areas. The acoustic treatments minimise background noise and reverberation to assist user-focus while aiding the students to acclimatise to a typical educational environment. Regular and symmetrical planning and escape pods provide respite from sensory overload.
