Noor Al Ain is the name given to the existing Al Jimi Mall which is about to undergo a major expansion and refurbishment. When work is completed Noor Al Ain will become the premier retail destination in Al Ain, an oasis city in Abu Dhabi which is undergoing rapid growth.

As part of the redevelopment of Noor Al Ain, DesignInc was commissioned to refurbish and enlarge the existing food court at Al Jimi Mall to create a new benchmark in Al Ain. Al Ain is a more traditional city than either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with a proportionately smaller expatriate population and greater emphasis on traditional culture.

The design reflects these local conditions, and creates a series of spaces each with an individual character that can accommodate a variety of uses and age groups. The use of lush fabrics, deeply upholstered furniture and carved wooden screens create the flavour of a majlis, while the use of smooth forms and glossy finishes define areas for a younger clientele.
