Built as a staged development between 1891 and 1907 as The Government Printing Office, 78 Murray Street is a preserved structure documenting turn of the century building practice.
The design intent is respectful and sympathetic to the heritage value of the building with the existing timber, steel and masonry structure exposed and restored to reveal original built fabric.
To juxtapose the aged quality expressed by the structure, a contemporary design philosophy has been conceived to provide a dramatic fusion between old and new.
