The project vision has been successfully accomplished to position the centre as the dominant food and everyday functional shopping destination in its trade area. To achieve this, the GLA has been increased to approximately 30, 020 m² with new kiosks, speciality retail and the provision of pad sites. Two Mini Majors have been added as well as an Aldi supermarket to increase the offer from Woolworths and Coles. The K Mart has been retained to provide the offer of a Discount Department Store.
To facilitate adequate car parking for the centre the capacity has been increased to 1,325 car spaces with approximately 160 cars contained within an undercroft parking area which is served by a 30 person lift.
DesignInc was in a unique position to bring to this project a combination of dual expertise. A proven track record of retail planning and design combined with invaluable experience gained from successful delivery of a number of complex projects under a Design and Construct contract.
