The Address Hotel at Dubai Marina is a new landmark hotel created by Emaar, the largest property developer in the Middle East. Although primarily designed to cater to the corporate traveler, the leisure market and a large residential population in the immediate environs have to also be served, and the hotel has to compete with several other hotels in the vicinity.
Designinc were commissioned to create an all-day dining offer that introduced an element of theatre into the preparation and serving of food and beverage, but one in keeping with the overall quality image of The Address Hotel.
This was achieved by creating several individual cooking stations, each offering a different food type and each operating from early morning to late at night. Customer seating has been distributed throughout the space rather than in one designated area, so that each diner can be fully involved in the food theatre that surrounds them. The restaurant opens out onto a dining terrace that offers spectacular views of Dubai Marina to create memorable dining experience for the patron.
The space occupied by the café has high ceilings, with glazed overhead canopies to define each cooking station and create a sense of intimacy. The palette of materials used emphasizes natural finishes such as stone and timber, and the lighting has been designed to focus attention on the total theatrical experience of food preparation.
