Designinc was commissioned to upgrade the main entrance lobby and several of the lobbies on other floors in order to improve the amenity of the building and make it more appealing to the leasing market. The works also entailed new landscaping, branding and signage to the St Kilda Road frontage to create a new image for the building.
The building was originally constructed in the 1990s, and although had had minor refurbishment work in subsequent years, nothing of any significance had been undertaken.
Part of our brief was to re-use existing structure and finishes where possible, while still creating a space that would clearly define it as a contemporary commercial building and stand out in a competitive leasing environment.
The final design retained the existing granite floor, but introduced new planning elements including more direct access to the lift bank as well as new lighting and ceiling treatments. A significant part of the refurbishment involved the incorporation of new specially commissioned artwork as an integral part of the design.
