Innova21 Wins Green Building Award

The University of Adelaide Innova21 project has been honoured with the Green Building Award at this year’s United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Awards.

Each year, in support of UNEP World Environment Day (June 5), the United Nations Association of Australia recognises innovative and outstanding environmental programs and initiatives from across Australia and the important work of Australian environmental leaders through its World Environment Day Awards.

Awards Presentation Dinner Host Rob Gell (Environmental Entrepreneur and Chairman of UNESCO Western Port Biosphere) read out the judges’ comments when presenting the Award to DesignInc, citing:

“Innova21 successfully harmonises architecture and engineering in a highly innovative University building.

A key differentiator that makes this entry the winner in a diverse and impressive field is that while an exemplary sustainable university facility has been created, the building will also educate students and the public. It gives confidence to the judges that the sophisticated systems in this environmentally responsive design will continue to be optimised in operation and provide invaluable feedback to the industry and thereby make a significant difference well beyond the project scope.”

DesignInc is proud to be associated with this award-winning environmentally sustainable project, and extends congratulations to the client and consultants.
