Adelaide Entertainment Centre Redevelopment Opens

The Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s redevelopment was officially unveiled in March. The new EFTE dome with dynamic LED lighting system forms a dramatic entry statement for the centre. The curved entry form closely follows the curve of the original roofline guiding visitors into a spacious entry plaza. The dome forms part of the $52M facelift designed by DesignInc, which also included a new 2500-seat performance space named the Theatre, and upgrades to the existing Arena entry and Star Room (formerly Alchemy). The Theatre is offset by a 2.4m x 67m super screen, which displays images and video of upcoming events. Macro branding and signage (also designed by DesignInc) assists visitors in navigating their way to the new exterior ticket box and any of the three venues. Capable of displaying 16 million colours and hundreds of patterns, the new dome is a highly visible addition to Adelaide’s changing architectural landscape.
